All Hands on Deck! Stand Against Flock in Palo Alto

All Hands On Deck! Indivisible Palo Alto Plus and the Safety Over Surveillance Palo Alto Coalition are organizing one final targeted action in Palo Alto before the Council goes on Summer Recess. SV-DSA is a founding member of the SOS Coalition.

The plan is simple: Show up for pizza on the Plaza at 5pm and join us in Council Chambers during General Comments at 5:30pm. Two designated spokespeople from the coalition will urge the council to (1) cover Flock cameras while council researches Flock during the summer recess, and (2) cancel the city’s Flock contract, especially in light of federal plans to open two detention centers in the Bay Area. You do not need to be a Palo Alto resident and will not be asked to speak. Since the Council will not be able to take action, our goal is not to bombard the Council with public comments, but to provide them with a few parting remarks to consider during the break and demonstrate popular opposition to the cameras by mass mobilization.
