A History of San Jose: The Second Red Scare

Jeannette Estruth is a local history professor from Santa Clara University. She has presented at the Historians for Peace and Democracy, focusing on consumer interest and Clinton’s welfare cuts of the 1990s.
She has written for Washington Post, The Drift, Urban History, IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, California History, the Business History Review, and Enterprise and Society.
She will be presenting on McCarthyism in San Jose and how our residents responded to it as well as developments within the Peace movement.
