Water is Life – Let Gaza Live Presented by Bay Area Bands & Artists Against Genocide

Silicon Valley DSA has endorsed and will be attending an event on September 4 organized by Bay Area Bands & Artists Against Genocide (BABA G). The Water is Life – Let Gaza Live event is a musical benefit show on Friday, September 4 from 7-11 PM at the Peace and Justice Center in downtown San Jose (doors open at 6:30). The purpose is to fundraise to support potable water distribution in Gaza. SV-DSA has spent months supporting the Al-Habil family in Gaza, and this event is an opportunity to continue to build on that effort.

Bay Area Bands & Artists Against Genocide (BABA G) Presents: Water is Life – Let Gaza Live on September 4, 2026.

Suggested donation of $15 with a sliding scale and no one turned away for lack of funds. Show starts at 7; doors open at 6:30

Proceeds from this event will go to the Al-Khair Foundation’s Gaza Water Campaign 2026 for supplying safe drinking water to displacement camps in the Gaza Strip.

This event features local artists: Dub Souljah, J.R. Rankin, Sophia Prise, Maq Steez, Know Morals, Voltaire Slapadelic, The Sumerians, Eve’s Heaven, Rozé Williams, Jason Newman and more!

This is a space for artists, community organizations and local businesses which support our mission of bringing people together to stand up to genocide, xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian hate, antisemitism and the corporate destruction of our earth and its people.

Why distribute water to Gaza, Palestine?     

While the people of Gaza continue to suffer under a ruthless occupation, access to safe drinking has become weaponized. Our campaign to support potable water distribution in Gaza will provide immediate relief for families and is especially important for some of the most vulnerable groups — infants, pregnant people and the elderly, who are especially at risk from contaminated water.

Reliable access to water not only supports hygiene and food preparation but will also provide lifesaving results by preventing dehydration and serious waterborne illnesses. Fewer outbreaks of disease due to waterborne illnesses will reduce the pressure on clinics and hospitals.
