Socialist Night School: Hands-on Canva Workshop

Throughout revolutionary history, graphics have served as powerful tools for political education, agitation, mobilization. Join the SVDSA Political Education Working Group and Communications Committee for a creative workshop where you’ll learn to use Canva as a tool for activism–no artistic ability or experience necessary!

This will be a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to use Canva, a free, online graphic design tool that lets you create everything from flyers to zines to videos to social media posts. You’ll leave the workshop with a better understanding of basic graphic design principles, what makes an impactful graphic, how to create in Canva, and having created one or two of your own digital graphics.

What you’ll need for the workshop:

• Your own laptop or tablet
• A free Canva account (we can help you do this at the workshop, if necessary)
• Imagination and a willingness to experiment!
