Labor Working Group Meeting

Please join us on zoom–link to follow, here and on the Labor Working Group thread on Slack–for an important Labor Working Group meeting, on Tuesday evening (6:30-7:30), December 2nd.

We will be organizing to support the striking baristas in San José Starbucks stores. Relatedly, we will be gearing up for Thursday the 4th’s screening of the documentary on the Gen Z-led labor revolution at Starbucks, “Partners.” In addition, we will get updates on all the on-going (or just beginning) campaigns: building a union-member caucus in SV DSA; building our connections (liaising) with area labor unions; planning to increase our presence and pull within the South Bay Labor Council (SBLC); reviewing our efforts to link up the Labor Working Groups of all the Bay Area DSAs; and also, discussing the steps being made to form and/or get involved in an area Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), which will likely include a discussion of on-going salting efforts in the area. Newcomers are very welcome: much of the work to be done requires little prior experience; in fact, much of it requires nothing but a desire to build labor power!
