[URGENT ACTION] ‼️PACK THE COURT‼️ for the Stanford 11 – this Monday, Oct 6th @ 8:15am, join us at San Jose Hall of Justice, Department 24 -to support student protestors’ rights to free speech! – Court begins at 8:30AM.
In a highly unusual and backhanded move, Santa Clara County’s DA Rosen & DDA Baker secured a grand jury indictment for 11 defendants in the case against the Stanford 12. The Indictment has side-stepped the preliminary hearing phase, taking court proceedings out of the public sphere as part of a broader authoritarian effort to criminalize protest and free speech. Grand juries are secretive and repressive processes held without the knowledge of defendants or their lawyers, entirely presided over by the District Attorney. Meanwhile Stanford continues to bow to the Trump administration in a new era of fascist political repression, and continues to be complicit in Israel’s crimes of genocide and apartheid.
As the Stanford 11 remain firm in their continued opposition to the ongoing genocide and catastrophic famine in Gaza, we the student and broader community, re-affirm our support for students and the civil right to free speech and protest. PACK THE COURT for the Stanford 11! Show the DA that the community is watching, and that he cannot take this case out of the public eye!
