Our friends at The Araminta Ross Foundation are holding a Black August event at Bell Street Park (550 Bell St) in East Palo Alto.
Black August is a commemoration of political prisoners and Black freedom fighters behind bars. It emanates from their struggle, experience, and reality.
It is a time for discipline, study, fasting, and re-commitment to the struggle for Black liberation.
SVDSA will table at the event. We will also offer a free brakelight clinic, where we help folks replace broken signal lights and headlights free of charge to minimize their encounters with police.
