This Working Session will include an overview of the 2025-26 Strategic Plan\, a group brainstorm session\, a skill-building workshop on how to bring a resolution to the chapter\, and breakout groups for further resolution development and brainstorming. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday evening\, December 4th at 7 pm\, at the SEIU-521 Hall\, 2302 Zanker Road\, for a screening of “Partners.” This documentary screening couldn’t be more timely\, given that the Starbucks Workers United-led strike wave has reached San José! \nThe full title of the film: “Partners: A Film About How Starbucks Baristas Started a Labor Revolution.” Yes\, this is a Gen-Z led labor revolution! A union struggle breaking new ground in a gig-work dominated industry. \nThis screening will be special in several ways: we will have a SWU strike leader with us\, to discuss and answer questions. We will have baristas and SWU staff joining us from the area\, including Santa Cruz\, where the strikes began in California. And we will be able to build support right there and then\, to support the on-going strikes in San José. \nFood and drink will also be on hand. Make plans to attend\, and help spread the word!

DESCRIPTION:At DSA\, we believe a better world is possible. But the only way that it can happen is if we organize together as members of the working class to restructure society based on human needs. DSA is the largest socialist organization in the United States\, but we have to grow even larger to change our society. One barrier to growth is lack of knowledge about socialism in general and DSA as an organization specifically. \nWhat is socialism? How can we achieve it? What projects does Silicon Valley DSA work on? How is our chapter structured to do work? How can I get involved? We are running a DSA 101 event where we will answer these questions and any others that you bring.
