SUMMARY:Skill Building: How to Talk to Non-Socialists about Socialism
DESCRIPTION:We are helping run an event to help build broad support for Ranked Choice Voting at Strike Brewing with a Brew and Chew event. Since this event is open to the public\, there will be many people who are not socialists who join us. With decades of Red Scare propaganda\, many people have an aversion to socialism. We know that building a better world needs socialism so it is based on human need\, not corporate profit. Talking to people about socialism in a natural way takes practice\, which is why we are going to run a skill building training on it! \nWe will meet an hour before the RCV Brew & Chew event so we can have a short skill building training and practice 1-on-1 conversations with each other in advance of the wider event. Join us at Strike Brewing at 5 pm on June 20 for the training\, then stay for the RCV event!

DESCRIPTION:Join Silicon Valley DSA\, South Bay Mutual Aid\, San José Food Not Bombs\, San José Clothing Swap\, and Art Pocket SJ\, for a really really free goods event in the San José Peace and Justice Center parking lot. We’ll have cleaning supplies\, clothes\, fresh produce\, fire preparedness kits\, menstrual products\, zines\, and more available so that people can take what they need\, for free. \nSet up begins at 2 to 2:30 PM.  The Free Store will run from 3:30 to 6:00 PM and clean up will go from 6-7 PM~.  Please wear a mask to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases. \nFeel free to bring and leave items you want to donate\, but don’t bring more than 50 pounds of items\, or items that won’t fit into a 2×2 box. \nWe look forward to seeing you! \nLocation Details\nSan José Peace & Justice Center Parking Lot\n48 S. 7th Street\nSan José CA 95112 \nParking \nThere is street parking and parking garages close by on 4th street.
