DESCRIPTION:[URGENT ACTION] ‼️PACK THE COURT‼️ for the Stanford 11 at 8:30 AM on Monday November 17 at the Hall of Justice\, 190 W Hedding Street\, San Jose\, CA \nIn June 2024\, students\, alumni\, and one student reporter were arrested at a sit-in of the office of Stanford University’s president in protest of Stanford’s complicity with Israel’s genocide in Palestine. In Santa Clara County\, the District Attorney Jeff Rosen has chosen to charge these protesters against genocide with felonies\, and 11 Stanford community members have been indicted on two grand jury charges\, making them the first out of thousands of protesters across the nation in the past two years to go to felony trial over their pro-Palestinian activism. \nThe next court date for the Stanford 11 is November 17\, where trial proceedings are set to be scheduled and assigned. SUMMARY:November Leadership Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Silicon Valley DSA holds quarterly leadership retreats so we can take a big picture view of our ongoing organizing work. We also work to develop member leaders and strategize about building coalitions with other local groups aligned with our goals and values. The retreat is open to all member leaders\, and any members who are interested in stepping up into a larger role in the organization are encouraged to attend. We will hold a retreat at the SEIU 521 Union Hall on November 8 from 9AM-1PM. Come join us to help set the direction of the organization and work out strategies to empower our members to develop as leaders in SV-DSA and the larger community.
