DESCRIPTION:On January 27th\, the San Jose City Council will vote on changes to the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance (IHO)\, the Mobilehome Rent Ordinance (MRO)\, and the extension of two housing incentive programs. Each of these proposals\, in one way or another\, worsen our housing and affordability crises by gutting affordable housing development\, removing tenant protections\, and providing subsidies for market-rate developers without any public benefit. \nJoin us to make public comment opposing these positions. \nMeeting begins at 1:30 pm\, with the MRO not being heard until 6pm. (Meaning: the other three will be heard in order along the agenda. Come when you can!) \nRSVP Here to let us know you’re coming \nGetting to City Hall\nCity Hall is located at 200 E. DSA is the largest socialist organization in the United States\, but we have to grow even larger to change our society. One barrier to growth is lack of knowledge about socialism in general and DSA as an organization specifically. \nWhat is socialism? How can we achieve it? DESCRIPTION:Join Silicon Valley DSA\, South Bay Mutual Aid\, Food Not Bombs San José\, San José Clothing Swap\, and Art Pocket SJ\, for a really really free goods event in the San José Peace and Justice Center parking lot. We’ll have cleaning supplies\, clothes\, fresh produce\, fire preparedness kits\, menstrual products\, zines\, and more available so that people can take what they need\, for free. \nSet up begins at 2 to 2:30 PM.  The Free Store will run from 3:30 to 6:00 PM and clean up will go from 6-7 PM~.  Please wear a mask to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases. \nFeel free to bring and leave items you want to donate\, but don’t bring more than 50 pounds of items\, or items that won’t fit into a 2×2 box. \nWe look forward to seeing you! \nLocation Details\nSan José Peace & Justice Center Parking Lot\n48 S. 7th Street\nSan Jose CA 95112 \nParking \nThere is street parking and parking garages close by on 4th street.
