Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Walk for Juristac

September 8 at 1:00 pm

Our tribe is on a journey of healing and restoration. One of the greatest challenges before us today is the protection of our sacred grounds at Juristac (Sargent Ranch), currently threatened by a proposed 320-acre sand and gravel mining operation.

To gather strength for the battle ahead, we will walk 5 miles together in the footsteps of our ancestors, from the Mission San Juan Bautista to the eastern edge of Juristac. All who wish to stand with us for the protection of our sacred land and the wellness of our future generations are invited to participate.

RSVP for further info: protectjuristac.org/walk

People of all ages and abilities are welcome. You can walk part of the way, the whole 5 miles, or only join for the opening and closing gatherings. Please RSVP. Arrive on time and bring your own snacks and water bottle. Dinner will be provided.

The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band is comprised of the descendants of indigenous peoples taken to the missions San Juan Bautista and Santa Cruz.
