Watch Party: Racism in Automation
February 2, 2020 at 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Short URL: https://siliconvalleydsa.org/?p=4584
🌹This is an explicitly low commitment, new comrade friendly event! Snacks will be provided!
Ever wondered if robots are racist? Or if automation can be programmed in such a way to favor the already privileged?
Do you just want to meet comrades in a low stress environment and maybe learn a little bit about social justice too?
Come and learn the answers to those questions and more while meeting comrades from both Silicon Valley DSA and Stanford YDSA!
Together we’ll watch “Are Robots Racist: Reimagining The Default Settings of Technology and Society” by Ruha Benjamin, a lecturer at Princeton and then discuss.
