Join us to participate in the first national webinar hosted by the Mass Strike for Reproductive Freedom campaign!
The Right has spent decades attacking abortion access with increasing fervor — increasingly restrictive abortion regulations, firebombs at health clinics, the assassination of providers, the prosecution of individual women, and the setting of a legal framework to bestow “personhood” on fetuses. As socialists, we must see these attacks as what they are: class war on the most vulnerable.
In the past three years, feminist strikes have mobilized millions of people around the world for abortion access. It’s time to bring that spirit to the U.S. Join DSA chapters across the country for a national strategy session. Our plan is to build upon the socialist feminist work that is already being done, connect various struggles to issues of reproduction, and increase our capacity to coordinate on state and national levels.
The strategy session will start off with a Q&A session with Tithi Bhattacharya (Feminism for the 99%), Jenny Brown (Without Apology), Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi (Physicians for Reproductive Health), and Rockie Gonzalez (National Network of Abortion Funds). The panel will be followed by break-outs to discuss our local campaigns, targets, and how this can inform a national strategy.
- Wheelchair accessibility: The room is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. There is a descent from the parking lot to the courtyard that leads to the room, which is accessed by a ramp.
- Public Transit: We may be able to connect you to carpooling from public transit stops or stations. Please email email@example.com to coordinate.
- Parking: You can park in the church parking lot for free.
- Finding the room: The entrance to the Fireside Room is connected to an outdoor courtyard which is behind the sanctuary. From the parking lot, head to the sanctuary entrance. Instead of entering the sanctuary, turn right and walk around the outside of the sanctuary building. The entrance is on the far side of the outer courtyard to the right of the sanctuary. Look for a paper “DSA” sign on the door.
