San José May Day
May 1 at 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
May Day is International Workers Day. It is a tradition throughout the world to take the day off to call attention to the struggles of workers, the poor, and oppressed. We have been regenerating this tradition in San Jose. This year’s theme is, We Shall Overcome! It is being organized by a coalition of labor, justice and immigrant rights organizations. This is a GREAT DAY for democratic socialists to help reclaim the socialist legacy of May First!
We will meet at the Mexican Heritage Plaza, which is a one level facility that has parking and is fully accessible. We will be marching down East Santa Clara Street on 2 traffic lanes secured by SJ Police and our security monitors. We will end at City Hall Plaza, outside, which is fully accessible.
